Obituary
Beverly M. Montgomery, Age 51, of Portage, IN, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014. She is survived by her loving daughter, Bettina (Elvis) Ervin, sisters Elizabeth (Monroe) Watkins, Carolyn Chamberlain, Doris (Prezell) Taylor, Rosie Pointer, Christine Edwards, Eloise (Clarence) Mayfield and Juliette Ellis; brothers Otha (Florence) Montgomery, Kenneth (Hazel) Montgomery and Melvin (Denise) Montgomery. Preceded in death by her parents, Willie Mae and Otha Montgomery; sisters, Juanita Montgomery and Lela Mae Tayler; brothers, Jerome Montgomery, George Fitzpatrick, Washington Fitzpatrick Jr., and Lester Fitzpatrick. Beverly graduated from Gary Roosevelt High School in 1972 and retired from U. S. Steel after 25 years of employment. She was baptized on August 2, 1970 at Tabernacle Baptist Church and converted to the Roman Catholic Church on April 2, 1994. Beverly loved playing bingo, game shows and watching movies, especially westerns. She will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, July 25, 2014, 1:00 p.m. at Rendina Funeral Home (5100 Cleveland Street, Merrillville, IN), Rev. Mike Evanick officiating. Interment Fern Oak Cemetery in Griffith, IN. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday at the funeral home from 10:00a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.
