Audrey Delores Harris Age 59, passed away on Saturday, July 6, 2013. Audrey was primarily a lifelong resident of Gary, Indiana and a graduate of Gary Roosevelt High School Class of 1972. Audrey was employed as a librarian with the Gary Community School Corporation for 28 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Doris and Jackson Harris Jr.; sister, Jacquilene (Donell) Bailey and beloved nephew, Bruce Harris, Jr. She leaves to cherish her memory; two goddaughters, Natalie L.J. Givens and Christina M. Jordan; two godsons, William A. Givens, II and Lovell King III; six brothers, Roy (Sandra) Harris of Indianapolis, IN, Myron Harris of Hammond, IN, Aaron (Sonja) Harris of Columbia, SC, Anthony Harris, Bruce (Lynette) Harris and Brock Harris, all of Gary, IN; three sisters, Doris (Von) Burt of Columbus, GA, Stephanie Harris of Gary, IN and baby sister, Daphnie (James) Wheeler of Merrillville, IN; sisters-in-law, Theresa Harris of Gary, IN and Linda Hightower of San Antonio, TX; lifelong best friend, Barbara Jean Meeks of Gary, IN and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and countless loving friends. Visitation is Sunday, July 14, 2013 9 A.M. 9 P.M. with family hour at 6 P.M., Smith, Bizzell and Warner Funeral Home,4209 Grant Street, Gary, IN. Funeral service Monday, July 15, 2013 11 A.M. at First Baptist Church, 626 W. 21st Avenue, Gary, IN. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park, Hobart, IN.
A very special lady shall be missed of her never ending love and kindness towards everyone. Her love emulated from our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who she is now with for eternity. May we keep her memories in our hearts remembering her always.
