Darrick "Oop" Hammond, Age 59, passed away Wednesday October 31, 2012. he was a graduate of Roosevelt High School Class of 1972. He was employed at Environmental Protection Agency in Elkgrove, IL. He was preceded in death by mother, Daisy Brown; paternal grandparents, Mattie & Nettie Hammond; maternal grandparents Terry & Elizabeth Island; brothers, Dwayne Hammond and Allan Brown, Sr.; 1 nephew, 1 aunt; 1 uncle. He leaves to cherish his memories children, India Hammond (Forrest Winston Jr.), Darrick Hammond (Bridgette Moisan); 6 grandchildren, Aaliyah, Chanelle, Chanay, Darrick III, Amani, and Isaiah; father, Leo Brown; brother, Michael (Olivia) Brown Sr.; a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation Thursday, November 8, 2012 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Powell-Coleman Funeral Home, 3200 W. 15th Ave., Gary, IN. Funeral Friday, November 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Salvation Army Church, 4800 Harrison St., Gary, IN. Interment Evergreen Memorial Park
