Amy was one of my first best friends in Gary.  Amy and I would walk to Velt everyday.  We use to go to Lee's Chicken Shack for lunch to get some necks and hot links.  Who didn't go to Lee's Chicken Shack?  Amy was a hard worker.  When she passed away, she worked for the Post Office.  I remember when she married Chester Mayfield, the hunk of Velt, that played sports and was handsome.  All the girls were after him, but my girl Amy got him.  Now my best friend is gone home.  She has been gone for a while, but I can't forget her smile.  Amy was a very quiet, soft spoken person.  I miss you.  God has an angel.  Vicki Owens (Lomax)
